- When potatoes and carrots are tender bring slightly to a boil add your cornstarch and water mix make sure it is cold water with the cornstarch slowly stir into the stew turn down the burner and let it simmer for a few seconds put a lid on it stirring occasionally and enjoy
Add beef back to dutch oven then add broth, wine, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and bay leaves. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer. In a small bowl mix together the flour, salt, and pepper; pour over meat, and stir to coat meat with flour mixture. Stir in the garlic, bay leaf, paprika, Worcestershire sauce, onion, beef broth, potatoes, carrots, and celery. Add beef, a few pieces at a time, and toss to coat.
